To the extent that one consciously participates in their own changes, they experience greater satisfaction.
To the extent that one consciously participates in changes in their lives, they have greater satisfaction.
To the extent that one consciously participates in their own changes, they experience greater satisfaction.

As Heraclitus of Ephesus, born 535 BC, stated “The only constant is change.” Whether you intend change or not, change just is; change happens. Whether you are leading change, following change or, completely naive about change, change is occurring–all the time.

Grounded Change extends the concept change. Change is a universal phenomena. People who call themselves change agents are not the only ones who influence change; every person is a change agent. Whether one lends assistance to change, whether they are intentional or not, each person participates in change. Thus, everyone is an agent of change. Involvement is not optional. Lack of participation, is participation. Intention is optional; direction is optional. In other words, you are an agent of change even if you don’t want to be. Your awareness, behavior, intentions and relationships impact your role as a change agent. If you do not want to accept this then your lack of conscious participation usually represents acceptance of the dominant direction. You can however, choose conscious presence in the relationships and systems that you engage. You can consider the direction that is needed and how you want to bring about positive, desired, change.

This level of awareness begins active change agency. Adept change agents are diversely skilled, often trained. The only constant is change happens. What is inconsistent is how people participate in the activities that they care about. Becoming a better change agent influences every avenue of your life.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
